My husband & I got deploy to Warsaw, Poland for 3 months starting Sep - Dec 2012. I'm so thrilled after I heard from my husband that we're going to Poland. I just feel blessed that I could go explore some new places, new things, learning new cultures, meet new people and try some local food!

Everyday I walked around to explore the city by myself while my husband was working. I noticed that all of the Polish women are very "stylish". The young people seemed to spek English and were enthusiastic to speak with me. They have many good restaurants with variety of food and they all seemed to play exceptionally good music. I was impressed! I discovered how much I like "Gulash" and I ate it frequently especially on the freezing cold days!!! Growing up in Bangkok, I always thought it would be fun to play in snow. But, being here in 15 degree Fahrenheit below zero I quickly learned that is not as much fun as I thought. It was so cold some nights that we didn't even want to go out to have dinner. Yikes! I have to bundle up everyday everytime I have to go out because I try to avoid the cabin fever. Daylight was so short during winter. It was a nice experiences anyway.

The old town Warsaw is very nice with a bunch of beautiful cafe and restaurants to stop by and warm myself up with a cup of Cappuccino. The old center of Warsaw was made up of the original old building but the rest of Warsaw had to be rebuilt after being destroyed in World War II by the Nazis.

(Our favorite pastry shop in town "Slodki Slony").

The other thing I discovered that they have many wonderful parks for the public to enjoy and for the kids to play in no matter what seasons the parks were good for entertainment. We visited Lazienki Krolewskie park during weekend which was really romantic & beautiful.
