From Tuscany with love

Just reminiscing about the trips we've taken. Out of the blue, I was thinking about the highlight of our trip in 2012 to the Tuscany region (Florence - Chianti - Siena - Pisa).

First of all, let me shout this out loud... I LOVE TUSCANY, WE LOVE TUSCANY!! Landscaping of the region impressed me a lot. Gosh, we were so happy at that time that we were in the land of the world's great wines & great food. We stayed in Chianti (wine region) about one week which was longer than other places in Italy. We started to pinpoint where we would go each day for our drives to experience the wine tasting! I think we did so well. We stayed at a historical villa that was both elegant and cozy. "Villa Vignamaggio" at Greve in Chianti, which was used for the movie called "Much ado about Nothing" with Keanu Reeves. This villa is also produces their own great wines and olive oils. I have nothing bad to say about things here. The service was great and they were very helpful to us.

We visited a lot of castles and many villages dating back to the Medieval Age. I have to say that I'm in love with Chianti in every way; wines are excellent, foods are top-notch, people were so kind - very nice and helpful to us. We came to agree that next time if we come back to Italy, we will fly from home nonstop to Florence and rent a car driving around the Tuscany region only.

Next day, we decided to drive west to the coast, to Pisa and the leaning tower. I was amazed that the tower could still stand, leaning so far. We did the tourist things, took a lot of photos, had a mediocre meal that was probably designed for the masses, the large number of tourists. Then we were missing the beautiful countryside of Tuscany so we went back to our Villa.

We stayed and roamed around the Tuscany region for 10 days and then headed to Rome. Until next time!
